During the “seconds” (rough-ins), your house is filled with plumbers drilling holes for pipes, HVAC guys cutting paths for ducts, and electricians running wires. If you don’t watch them closely, a sub might notch a load-bearing stud or cut a floor joist in a way that compromises the engineering of your home.
  • How are you managing your subcontractors during rough-ins? Have you had to step in and fix an improper cut or notch?
  • For the DIYers: What is the hardest part of running your own wires or pipes so far?
Post your rough-in layout problems or subcontractor management stories below!
