The best way to start your budget is to know what size of a home you are looking to build. Sometimes we need to build a smaller square footage home if we want all the bells and whistles in it. 

If we are just looking for a modest sized home that is affordable then we need to remember that is our objective from the beginning and we need to keep that in mind while we build the budget. 

The hardest part about building a budget and keeping with-in our budget is when we make the decorator selections. Do we want real wood floor, tile or Italian Marble? You see what I am tying to say is if you want to keep your budget in line you need to be careful on the selections. 

You would not go to a Ferrari dealership if you wanted a Ford. Especially if the Ford was what you have budgeted for from the beginning.
